Has anybody used this?? I am soooo sick of shaving. lol. But there's no way I'm gonna become one of those hairy beast women I've heard about Nair, but usually those things never work and end up just a big fat waste of money. So if anyone has ever used it, please let me know the results. I'm thinking of trying that waxing kit sometime.

Re: Nair
my friend actually uses the NAir for facial hair. She always uses it and never has any issues.
I think I tried it once when I was younger, I don't remember if it did the job or not.
sorry

Re: Nair
it works from what i remember, i used it when i was a teenager haha and that was a long time ago. I just wasnt that crazy about it so i stopped. You gotta sit there with it on for a bit so that part gets annoying.

It's annoying to use and smells bad....I have used it occasionally but it's so much faster and easier to shave, honestly...

yeah true, it wont remove the hair follicle as well as waxing or shaving would so thats why its not great. So better off not using it
oh yeah i saw someone else said something about the smell, ugh it did have a horrible smell

Re: Nair
thanks for your experiences on that. When i was complaining to FH last night about how tiny his shower is and how annoying it is to shave in there, and how i'm gonna have to just be hairy once i move in (lol) he suggested Nair. I told him I was skeptical and would ask the girls on LIW. He made fun of me for that, but at least I don't have to waste time & money on it now! I guess I'll just have to work on my old yoga techniques and learn how to bend & twist in that tiny little shower!

Re: Nair
I use Nair about once a month or so to remove the hair from my forearms (sorry if it's TMI!!!) and it works great. It smells better and works much more quickly (less than 3 minutes) than it used to and always removes the hair perfectly. The trick to its success is that hair has to be a certain length (about 1/4 or 1/8 of an inch) for it to work. The Nair grabs onto the hair so it has to have something to grab onto...not for everyone but still worth a try because you have to have the hair a certain length to wax it also. It's cheaper and less painful than waxing just messier...I'm afraid to wax my arms because I think it will be painful!!

Re: Nair
i hate the smell of nair but i used to use VEET razera(sp). i felt it gave me a closer removal that lasted longer then if i shaved...the problem with that is you technicall still have to shave...i used to sit in my bath tub with it on and read a book never did it when i was actually in the shower...but the results lasted for almost a week while with shaving my hairy italian @ss has to shave every day...and sometimes twice if i shower in the morning and then have to be some where at night...plus from having to shave everyday my legs would get sooooo dry that the veet was safer and prevented a lot of bleeding =)

I'm not a fan of it; It smells terrible & didn't work well for me at all when I did try it years ago.

Re: Nair
i use it and it does work, i get totally smooth but i have to leave it on longer than recommended like 15 mins or a couple over (i would recommend trying a small dot somewhere to see how you react to it and the best time for you if you use it) but its a thin line in deciding when to take it off in my experience and sometimes i get a rash if im not careful and leave it too long. i use it for 'hard to reach areas' if that makes sense (like back of my legs at the top for ex. i know, who get hairy there??...its my italian blood!!). everything else, i shave.
i agree it does smell bad and also i agree that it works better with a certain hair length.

that's what i'm afraid of. I never have my hair grown long enough to wax off. The only time i ever had ANYTHING waxed was my eyebrows and that was before they were even plucked or anything.
I dunno... maybe i'll try it & see. In order to keep a smooth feel, i basically have to shave every day (which i only do during Summer time. lol) but my skin gets really irritated. So it might actually be worth trying. Shaving less would probably help that
thanks everybody!!!

to wax your arms it doesnt really hurt. I have been waxing my arms for years and most of it is a piece of cake, just one part hurts a little but the rest is ok.

Re: Nair
Gross question--
Need suggestions for under arms..
I shave EVERYDAY and yet to me it looks like i dont. I hate it. I am very self conscious about it. I won't wear sleeveless or tank tops. A close co-worker has the same problem and she said it is because we are too Italian..LOL
I have a strapless/sleevless dress so I'm getting paranoid about it.
FH said it doesn't look like that at all, but to me it does and its more of like a mental thing that i think it looks a thousand times bad.
