name change? can I do it anywhere?

hi all,
do you happen to know if I can go to a social security and a DMV office in manhattan if I live in suffolk to handle my name change? The number on dmv site is always busy!

thanks!

Hmm, I don't know. I'm pretty sure you can tho, as long as it's NY state.
