Name Change for Teachers NOT CERTIFIED YET

was it difficult to change your name after you got married before you finished school? Are you or did you change it before you got your certification complete?

I am currently in grad school and have taken the LAST and am taking the ATSW in June but don't know if i should wait to change my name after i have completed everything so it doesn't get messed up. I won't be finished with school for about another year so I am stuck on what to do.

I plan on using my maiden name for school stuff but personally will use FH's name. How does that work on ppwk wise? Thanks girls

using your maiden name professionally will depend on the school..they should be able to put it as your email/schedule...

i would to change everything until after though, bc i feel the state messes up so much to begin with that it's easier to just one thing than all the tests

this came up at a meeting at Molloy College. Just completed my masters and they said leave your maiden name on paper work and certification. It does not matter, All they will see is that you are certified not the new or old last name so dont worry =)

Thanks guys,

So I should wait til school is done before changing name.? Thats what i thought would be easier as much as I wanted to do it right away. I can leave it alone at school (grad school)but was worried if i changed ss card and license i would have a hard time if i used my maiden name on school stuff like tests and stuff. I also wanted to change my passport b/c it would be free up until a year later but don't want any problems. I guess i will just wait
