Name Change Question

Name Change Question

I don't know whether or not to hyphenate or change my name.

If I hyphenate my name _______ - ___________, can I use either one at my leisure or do I have to use it hyphenated all the time. I wanted to use my maiden (weird typing that BTW) professionally since my degrees/teaching certificate has that name, and my married name socially. Can I do that?

Im so clueless with less than 2 months to go

I hyphenated for similar reasons.

I find that people tend to call me DHs last name and thats fine, I just wanted my to hold on to my maiden name because I am not one ounce old fashioned and hyphenating will make it easier when we have kids...

i think i'm keeping my name as a second middle name and then just adding his on. it's another option.

if you hyphenate your name, you can use whichever you want, ie. maiden name for work, married name for social, hyphenated for legal papers. it's totally up to you, i know plenty of people i work with that took their husbands' names but use their maiden at work. it's whatever you feel comfortable with!

Absolutely true. My mom does that..she uses her maiden name at work and her married name for legal stuff
