Name change question

Name change question

I was just reading the Marriage license website and in the section about name change it says you can only change your last name, not your first or last name. I planned to take FH's last name but change my middle name to my current last name(drop my current middle name). I know that this has been done. I actually saw it as an option on a few websites.
So my question is how do I go about this? Does anyone know?

i know my cousin did something similar but it was years ago. Maybe call the socoal security office about that...or dmv

My FSIL did this. I am not sure how she did it, but I know it is possible.
