Name Change Question

Which comes first...the DMV or SS office??????

I did DMV first.

You did?? How? I do DMV paperwork at my job, and all my Albany reps told me I have to go to SS first ...

according to SS, you have to go there first
but honestly when i went to DMV, they never asked me if i went to SS

I did it today....SS was a PIA, waited an hour, but i printed out the form online, had it all printed and ready to go before i got there
same thing for DMV

DMV i was in and out in 10 minutes, the one in hauppauge has a separate line just for name changes and renewals

I went to Social Security first then DMV don't go to massapequa I was there for almost 3 hours

I did SS first, but since I did them in the same day i didn't show my new SS card. So i guess technically it didn't matter

this is good to know Jenni. It might be worth the trip from Huntington to Hauppague for me
