Who is changing their name and what way? I am thinking of making my last name now my middle name and taking my FH's last name.

Re: Name changing
I am definitely taking his last name. I debated making my last name my middle name but I have decided to just drop it all together.

Re: Name changing
I'm not changing my name. I already have a perfectly fine last name, don't need a new one

I am thinking of doing the same. My middle name is arbitrary and I'd rather have one that has meaning!

Re: Name changing
I love my middle name and my last name, so I'm having difficulty taking my FHs name. I am most certainly going to hyphenate, unless there is some way that I can add my last name to my middle name without hyphenating. I don't think you can though.

Re: Name changing
Pretty sure that I am going to drop my middle name. I know I definitely don't want to hyphenate but I am having a hard time totally giving up my last name but I don't want to not change my name. Oh the decisions us brides have to make!

Re: Name changing
I hypentated but at work I kept my maiden name. The hypenating doesn't bother me at all.

Re: Name changing
i'd always thought i would hyphenate, but our last names are practically the same just change a letter in mine and you'd have his, that it is too funny to say both names together.

Re: Name changing
I never had a middle name, so I am using my maiden name as a middle name.
Taking Hubbys' I love his last name, it is very Italian just like my Madien name.

Re: Name changing
I'm keeping my name. I have a perfectly good one that I'm used to. If I was getting married earlier in my career I might consider it. And actually on a more personal level I like my very Italian sounding name and would like to keep this as an obvious mark of cultural identity. (I guess if he was Italian too I might be more likely to change it.)

Re: Name changing
I had thought about hyphenating my name but I got the most evil looks from family not to mention my FH got so mad that I didn't want to take his name fully. My last name is how I have been for the past 25years it's what keeps me my own person so I had to compromise, and it hasn't been discussed again since.

Re: Name changing
I am taking FH last name. I think it's important when we have kids that I have the same last name as them.

Re: Name changing
I'm thinking about hyphenating or going maiden as 2nd middle. Haven't really decided.....kind of attached to my maiden name after 30 years.
