name changing kit

did anyone get one of these kits to change their names?
if so, where did u get it and what did u pay for it? if not, how did you change your name?

Personally, I don't think you need to buy a name changing kit. After we got back from our honeymoon, the marriage license had arrived. I took an extra day off of work so that I could take care of it. I went to Motor Vehicle first (you can print the forms online) to change my license (I lease my car, so I don't have a title, but you'd need to do that too if you own it). Then I went to Social Security (printed the forms online again) to change my name. Lastly, I went to the bank.

For credit cards and the rest, I did everything either over the phone or by fax.

I know there is a kit out there...I just don't know where to find it. Sorry.

I never heard of a kit, but I don't see why you should have to pay for that, when you can take a day off (or an extended lunch) to take care of most of the things at once.

They're selling it on the knot but for $27. Seems like a lot of money for something you can get/do for free. Maybe they have it somewhere else too?

There is a book out there that is pretty good. Not sure what it is called, but I bought one at Borders or Barnes and Nobles
I am a list person, and it provides you with a list of all of the places you have to change your name. So I bought it, and I have it just waiting for me to use it!!!!
There are so many things you have to change your name on......
man have it so easy!

Just got mine from weddingchannel.com def worth the $20. all the forms you need are in it so you dont have to run all over the place, it also has letters to fillin and send to credit card co.s insurance co's etc. Believe me there is a lot and it tells you step by step wht to do
