Names- Who Were You Named For ?

I was named for my maternal Grandmother. My name is Mary Emma. I discovered in later yrs. that Emma, meant, 'nurse', which blew me away, since no one knew that I would be a nurse in later yrs. Mary MOB

My Aunt and Great Aunt are both named Rachel...though my mom claims I wasn't named for them. Whatever, mom!

My Grammam... her name was Margaret but everyone called her Meg.

i was named bettie after my grandma and my middle name is kristina after my mom's middle name but her's starts with a c and mine starts with a k. my grandma actually changed the spelling of her name to betty when i was born. i think that was so kool.

Meg, that's really interesting!! I have some Margarets in my family tree, and they go by Peggy. Love the name, Meg, Megan, and all 57 'Heinz Varieties' of that spelling!! Mary MOB

That is very cool, Bettie!!!!! I have an Aunt Betty, but she always confuses me with the changing of the spelling of her name, occasionally!! Sometimes she has spelled it Betty, other times, Bette!!! Go figure!!! Mary MOB

My aunt and up until the day I get married we will have the same first and last name! She re-married and ended up with the same last name again (her maiden name is the same as her married name-if that's not confusing!)
Marisol means sea and sun in Spanish.

my dad's name is JErry. my mom's name is ANne. 'ETTE' means the smaller form of something.

so my parents always tell me that JEANETTE is a little bit of jerry and anne.
