Naming the tables

Is anyone doing this? Do you have any ideas?

We are!!

I think we're gonna name them after places we like to eat, which kinda makes sense since our guests will have dinner at the tables. It fits us bc we both like to eat out a lot.

Either that or maybe we'll name them after the different positions on the softball field. We both play on a co-ed team and really bonded over it, so it might be a nice tie in, too.

Can't decide!!

We're doing this with events/places that are special to us (where we met, pets, work tables, Europe table--where we'll be for our hm, engagement table, etc.) We'll put a picture & a little story at each table (in picture frames).

I know there was a post not too long ago..

we did words like love, friendship, devotion
etc...with a picture in the middle

My cousin did that at her wedding and it was cool! We are from Portugal and her husband is from Sweden so they named the tables after city's in both countries. It was really cute!

I think its a great idea, but I dont know what I would do!! I think Im ust going to hand paint my table #s.. At least its a little different :)

I don't think I can handle naming tables...but we are giong to take pictures of us holding nubers and put them on the tables. We're thinking of kind of goofy pictures, but I'm not sure though because we're having a black tie wedding, but it may add a light touch to it.... What do you think?

If you don't want to name the tables, I've seen number cards that are pics of the bride and groom at different locations. They hold a card that has a number on it. On the back, you write about where you are in the pic.

I didn't think of this in time, but I thought it was a fun idea. A bride chose different floral centerpieces and had coordinating favors for each table (a rose table, daisy table, etc.). A coworker told me about a Disney theme wedding she attended--each table was named after a character.

And if you really want to be different, you could have different color tables, though that would be difficult if you have a lot of guests. I read about that somewhere--don't think it's for me, but it is an original idea.

We are doing street names. I'm from Ny and FH is from Boston. Our family and friends will totally get a kick out of it. Plus we met in college in Boston and we moved to Ny together.

Park Ave, Broadway, Madison, etc

I like that idea...I am going to name them after all the places we've lived...and believe me it is alot. Boston, Burlington VT, Los Angeles, NY etc

We went to a wedding where the bride named the tables after different types of wine....the bride and groom are into wines so it fit them, and it added something different - I thought it was a good idea and now I'm trying to think of names for our tables!

The different wine idea is cute and cindyandkevin - the idea of rest. names I like that - we like to eat out too - I may use that.

My sister named tables after different countries..
I went to a wedding this past weekend that named our table after one of the islands they will be visiting on their honeymoon

We were going to name them after disney couples like mickey and minnie, beauty and the beast etc. but we are not having a disney themed wedding so I wasn't sure if that would be stupid. Any thoughts?
