Is it really bad if I let Lyla nap in her swing 1 or 2x per day? Getting her to nap for longer than 20 minutes is very hard, and I often end up nursing her to sleep, even if she ate 1 hour before, or end up holding her a lot so that she stays asleep and gets a good nap in. I try to put rolled up blankets so that it's more comfy, but her head often ends up coming forward, I feel guilty for making her nap sitting like that! I guess if she didn't like it she'd let me know?

It's fine if she naps that way!! She would definitely let you know if she was uncomfortable!!
I wish Sean liked his swing enough to sleep in it!!

Re: Napping in swing
So many babies nap in their swings - Paul did that very often too - he preferred the 'motion' to being still. I wouldn't worry about it too much - enjoy it now while she's small enough to fit in the swing!
Can you recline the swing, so her head doesn't bob forward? That was one feature I *loved* about Paul's swing.

I have the Graco, it's the saratoga pattern, 6 speeds, 15 songs?? It has 3 positions for the seat but I think it's already on the one that goes back the furthest, but her head is still down. I think she's outgrowing the head rest, so maybe I'll take that off and see if that helps.

Niha, I am no expert, but I think the motion makes them love it. I have seen it on some show before where a mom placed the baby in the swing b/c that was the only thing that would make him sleep or stop crying. I wish I wish I was in a swing now

I don't see anything wrong with her napping in the swing. If she wasn't comfortable you would know it- she would cry.

Niha, Ryan used to nap in his swing, as well as his bouncy seat all the time! I say, let them be! If they are comfortable, it's better they get sleep. He still absolutely loves to sleep in his carseat! He gets some of his longest naps that start in the car! He ends up sleeping in the carseat for hours after we are home! I figure, he'd let me know if he wasn't happy!!

Re: Napping in swing
if there is an insert-pillow inthe back of the swing seat take it out and see if that helps. If not, get a little pillow that is U shaped- like a travel pillow that we use on airplanes??..and AFTER she falls asleep raise her chin and tuck it underneath it
I do this in the car seat when julianne's head sokmetimes slumps to one side.
beleive me, LET HER SLEEP wherever it happens. its hard to break the habit of holding them while asleep...try to transfer her to her creb/bassinette...just make sure she is in deep sleep when u do that...
