Narrowing Down Areas: South Huntington

I'm looking for input on South Huntington, SD #13.

My FBIL just moved out of that area. They loved it for their starter house but now that they have a toddler wanted to get into a better school district (the moved to Fort Salonga) but they just sold their house for 425,000.

As far as the school district it is #2 in Huntington. Harborfields is the best. Countrywood wich is K-3 Is amazing. The teachers and faculty are amazing. My daughter is in K and is loving every minute of it. Maplewood which is 4-6 Is also very good. As far as Jr High and High School it is slightly lower. By the time the kids get into high school, whatever school district at the time the were in K could be good or bad then. It's truly a waiting it out game. We've lived in Huntington for 2 years. Loving every minute of it.

Countrywood is a great school...my best friends mom was the librarian there for years (shes retired now)

Huntington and South Huntington redistricted about 10 years ago in So Hunt's favor...but if they could do it once...they could do it again...

Have you checked out Harborfields (school I went to) Elwood, Northport and Half Hollow Hills?

I know of an adorable little house for sale in Greenlawn, SD#6 (Harborfields). My friend is selling- it was his starter house! It has an apartment you could rent out for $800/mo if you wanted.... FM me if you'd like more info!
