narrowing down reception halls....

Ok here is the list of top choices
La grange Inn
Sunset harbor
Watermill(love, but not sure yet of winter prices??)
Stewart Manor CC
Swan Club
Anyone have price ideas for winter(JAN-March) and advice??..favorites??..really ened help, this is going to be so hard for us, we are so picky! Price is the biggest issue, followed by size of room, small is ok, just large enough dance floor and room in between chairs..lol
Thanks again!

Re: narrowing down reception halls....

I looked @ the same places you have been to.

we booked the holbrook country club for a couple of reasons, one being the price...we got a great deal for a Sat night in July, we like the fact that the room is in the shape of an octogon so we got a nice cozy feeling. they include the centerpieces which saves us money also..

I love Watermill and Sunset Harbour also...You can't go wrong

What price range are you looking for?

Re: narrowing down reception halls....

ce range would have to be under $70 pp, looking for( hoping for) $55-65 before tax , gratuities etc, thats why we picked winter and have heard these places are in that range..unsure about Watermill though...

i vote stewart thomas or watermill

Swan club is not nice looking off season..they are known for the great flower aragement. There rooms are small and have more then 1 event at the time.

La Grange...been to many events there... the main room is nice but you can get more for your money else where. food is ok

Here are the places we saw..
La grange Inn - we saw them and they had a very diverse menu for the price. They were about to renovate when we were looking so I don't know how it looks.

Watermill - Simply beautiful!

Stewart Manor CC - Obviously we loved it They can accomadate 100-160 comfortably. Good food, good service.

Swan Club - beautiful grounds. can accomadate many different sized weddings.

I don't know if you looked, but the Meadow Club in Port Jeff is lovely and moderately priced.

Re: narrowing down reception halls....

I am getting married at the Swan Club. I love the grounds and I had a food tasting and it was so yummy. Good Luck.

I can tell you that I am paying around 90.00 for a June wedding on a saturday night. IMO this was a very good price!

We had to Guarantee 165 for the biggest room on a saturday night if u get married during the day or on a friday or a sunday not only would it be cheaper but the gurantee would go down.

Re: narrowing down reception halls....

They gave us a price of $65 pp in January at the WATERMILL -
I didn't want a winter wedding. - But it's the exact same thing, ALL of the food, extras etc. - You should def ask about it !!

I'm partial to the Stewart Manor it's where we decided to book. James is a doll, the food at our tasting was fantastic and I love the look of it.

We live on the border of Queens and Nassau and have a lot of family in Queens so it made sense. We felt Suffolk county was a little far to ask people to travel.

I was also going to recommend the Meadow Club and The Huntington Townhouse. They both gave me quotes in your range for September, so it should be even lower in Jan-March.

I know this might be out of the way for you, but have you looked into the hamlet willow creek? It's in mount sinai, exit 63 of the LIE. They quoted me at $75 pp on a saturday night or $65 for a sunday night. You can secure these prices for any time of the year, even summer if you book soon. Also the Woodbury CC quoted me at $75 for a Sunday.

James explained the price breakdown for Sunday to us when we went to look at SMCC and it made sense to me. If you book a Friday or a Sunday you are the only wedding they do that day. You can choose to start your reception at any time you want. that's why they do not change the pricing depending on the time of the reception.
Hope that helps.
