We have been calling and seeing many halls, the field is narrowing down to the following places and I would like any opinions/comments you have to help us...
Rivera-loved but room might be too small Captain Bills-loved, but will not do twilight Harbor Club-loved, but conflicting stories on who owns it? Thatched Cottage-loved, but room may be small,did not like downstairs room AND also conflicting stories about ownership. Timberpoint C.C.-loved Lands End-loved but $$ Danfords-loved, but also may be too crazy on a holiday weekend.
Any help, or other options I might have missed looking at? Thanks ladies.

I went to wedding in March at the Thatched Cottage & wasn't crazy about it. The Ch was downstiars, and the room is a weird lay out& definitely felt like a basement. The rooms for the ceremony & reception were too small for that particular wedding. There wasn't a bar, they had waitress service for drinks, so there were always staff near teh tables, so it was hard to get up & take pictures, b/c the tables were so tight. The lobby is really pretty though & the food was decent. I think the couple didn't really have any problems with the staff or management or anything.
Mostly I think it just wasn't the right choice for their wedding. I think they had about 130 people, but they were expecting more no responses, which I think was the problem. How many people are you having?
I haven't seen to many peoel on here who are getting married there.

We are probably going to wind up with 175-180. I have to say I thought the same about the downstairs room. I heard service was good, but some very big upheavel in managers, someone I know is cancelling because of this.

Oh and btrflygrl is the second wedding after the renovations. I can't wait for her wedding!!!!

Seems like you might have already made your decision...from what you've written, the only one you HAVENT found something 'wrong' with is Timberpoint CC.... other than than, can't help...sorry..

It seems that most of the places you have chosen are on the water, what about the Cresent Club. We went to a wedding there and LOVED it!

Is that the place in Bayville? Some posts in here said it needed a facelift?
What about the North Ritz Club? I have heard nothing but great things about them. We went to look at there facilities and they had a beautiful ballroom and great selections. They had a great price per person too. Good Luck

I'm a Riviera bride. We chose it b/c we love how warm and charming it is, b/c of the beautiful, secluded location for an outdoor ceremony, and the price. We're hoping to have no more than 150-160 guests (although our guest list is creeping up there!); from what I've heard, this should be a comfortable amount without being too cramped. How many guests are you planning on having?

We are getting married at Chateau La Mer. It is on the water, the ballroom is HUGE, you can have an outside ceremony and indoor/outdoor cocktail hour and the price was great!
