Re: nassau county hall cancellation question
I wish I knew but I don't.....however......if your wedding date is currently scheduled for 7/7/07 (based on your avatar), it's highly likely that they can re-book that date in a second since it is the most popular date for weddings this coming year. it's not like you're trying to cancel a random day in february. good luck.

Re: nassau county hall cancellation question
Do you mind me asking if you are looking to cancel Fox Hollow?
The only reason why I am asking this is b/c my brother (about 10 years ago) was supposed to be getting married there and they ended up breaking off the relationship and canceling the wedding and Fox Hollow told them that the only way they can get a full refund of the money that was paid was if the room they were having their wedding in was booked for that night. Anyway, since my parents were paying towards his wedding, they lost out on $4,000 towards the place. They went there the night that was supposed to be his wedding and the room was not booked. Out of the $4,000, my parents have a credit of $1500 and Fox Hollow told them a few weeks ago that the only way they can use the credit is if they have an event of $10,000 or more there. Which is a crock of you know what to me.
I am not sure if this answers your question but I hope it helps.
Good luck.

sulfolk has a law that you lose I think your deposit, but nassau has no law and I think you are responsible if they do not rebook.

I know you definitely lose your deposit, but I believe if they can rebook it, then you are not responsible for the remaining balance.

That's usually the case since the hall cannot take two payments for the same night. I think you could still lose your deposit, though.
I'd try getting someone to take over your contract, though. That's a date people would LOVE to book.

Re: nassau county hall cancellation question
HI...I had to cancelled a hall in Nassau county, and the law is you can cancelled 8 months in advance your are not responsible for the entire cost. What will happen is u will loose you deposit also I think they keep about $1500, and they may not even give you any money back. It may just be a credit that you have there. If they do not rebook the date for the same price Blah Blah. Definitely read your contract.
