Nassau County Museum of Art -- Any Information????

Someone has suggested using the Nassau County Museum of Art as our reception location. Any thoughts? Does anyone know anyone who has gotten married there?

I`ve worked there a while ago through a catering co., and it was always nice. The cocktail hour is amazing inside with all the artwork. The dinner is held outside in a tent. (Not sure if that`s what you`re looking for) Also, if you went there, you`d have to hire your own caterer.

Any idea regarding cost -- as far as the site fee is concerned? Thanks for your feedback, Teri.

When I looked in Oct. 1999, I think the site fee was around $2500-3000. There were 3 caterers I could choose from, but I don't remember the names. I think the caterer I used does weddings there. Check them out at www.stonecaterers.com.

The one caterer I know of that worked at the museum was Mark of Excellence in Port Washington. They're really good, but I'm sure very pricey.

I really liked it because there are lots of grounds for the guests to explore and you can take all your pictures there. I called the caterer in Pt. Washington mentioned in a previous post. They were out of my budget. I never finished calling around to the other caterers because we knew we found 'the place' when we went to the Vanderbilt Mansion in Oakdale. Good luck.
