Natural Blondes and/or Fair Skinned Girls...

Did anyone ever go brown? I have naturally blonde hair, fairly light. I get it highlighted now (to cover up all my grey) but I REALLY want to go dark. I'd have to wait until the end of the summer (MOH in my best friend's wedding 7/24 and I don't want to completely f' up her pictures if it's terrible).

Anyway, a few people have been all when I mention it but I think it'll warm up my skin tone. And I don't mean scary Renee Zellwegger vampire black hair, just a nice brown - maybe Mischa Barton or Mary Kate Olsen brown...

Has anyone ever done this or known someone who has? How did it come out?

i have fair skin but have gone blonde for about 8 years.

i decided to go dark twice since then. i have had very mixed reactions. and people will NOT hold back once they see you ( :

some people loved it, like you said, they thought it warmed up my skin. others hated it.

and in the end, i always go back blonde. i say try it. go a lighter than you think you want, because it IS a big change. you can always go back.

Well, I'm fair-skinned and naturally brown, so I say it looks great!
But I tried to go blonde once and it was the worst I have ever looked in my life.....

I would suggest waiting until all tha big events are over....in case it doesn't work out.
I think you look great blonde though.....and you'll probably be gorgeous darker as well!

From the pictures I've seen of you I think a 'soft' ash brown wouldn't be too bad for you. I'm a natural darker brown but I know blondes who have gone darker and it came out really nice. Good Luck if you decide to go for it.

BTW: How are you holding up with the wedding so close?????

I never went 'truly' brown- I have dark-ish blonde hair and I am very fair. I've used Clairol Natural Insticts in Tweed, a light ash brown. I liked how it made my skin look paler, but in a good way, if that makes any sense.

If you're not totally sure, I would try something like Natural Instincts, because it washes out after a few weeks. Then if you're happy you can go permanent.

Cacrmr - I'm holding up actually REALLY well!!! We had the final last night with Milleridge so the majority of the annoying crap had to be done for that. So now I just want the time to pass so it can be next weekend already! It'll start to fly around Tuesday again, that's when the 'grooming' begins

i don't have any pictures!!! but the color when i first did it was similar to drew barrymore at the oscars!

I definitely think you'd look great as a light brown/caramel color...

maybe Jennifer Anistons' color would be a nice transition....and then you could go darker from there

I read that you were thinking of the Mary Kate Olsen color. I think that color would look amazing on you!!! you want something darker but not a darker brown... more of a light brown with highlights???
