Hi
I went on the Nautcal cruise out of freeport, for New years eve a few years back.. the food was good, and we had a lot of fun, the only thing we didn't like is where you sit and eat, it was very close, all the tables were very close together and there were only about 150 people, also in that room, the engines are below you and it was very noisy.. def. take a ride out on one and see what you think. TY so much, do you know if it was the princess boat or the bigger one. Im planning a intimate wedding with around 50 guest so the space is not so much the problem but how my guests will feel

I definitely think it's a cool idea. I haven't been to a wedding on one, but I did the Halloween party in 2005 out of Freeport FH knows someone that just got married this past weeked on one of those boats. Everyone said they had a great time.

I attended a wedding on a Ship some time ago. It was wonderful. the ship was large and had plenty of room for dancing and dining. I was considering it myself but my fear of a bad weather day kinda freaked me out. None of us want a rainy day on our Wedding day but if it does you can stay inside. I guess you can stay inside on the boat too.....but it is different. If you get nice weather.....it is BEAUTIFUL!!!

I think for a wedding of your size, the Princess would definitely be able to accomodate you comfortably. I've never been to a wedding on a Nautical Cruise but I've attended a few other occassions aboard both the Princess and the Empress and both were great as long as you keep your guest list down.

And as far as weather goes, of course a nice day is ideal but I did attend a party on a stormy night and although the boat had to stay docked and everyone had to stay in the boat we all had a great time.

...thats not a bad idea and you don't need to worry looking for an officiant. The captain of the ship can marry you!! Good Luck

Re: Nautical cruise for a wedding

My mom did a wedding in Freeport on one of those ships, it may have been the nautical cruise.

It was sooo much fun - great part, centerpeices are silk flowers....eliminates another cost.
Downside, Air conditioning didn't work that hot and it was a HOT HOT August day.
But it was fun, and food was good.

I went on a party with nautical cruise, it was great and a lot of fun, just tell your guest an early time so the boat doesn't leave them

Re: Nautical cruise for a wedding

Hi just had our wedding on NC Princess would like to do it again we both agreed, we are still getting compliments from our guests they had a wonderful time so did we. We selected the princess because it was better looking the empress looked like it needed more work..take a look at the difference in the bathrooms. Hubby said sound system was better than on empress. Key point the Princess has cover on top deck in case of rain Empress doesn't, so if u use empress you will loose the use of one level if it rains.

We tweeked the menu they were very accomodating. .guest report ample food soooo much food. we got no extras..basic wedding package that they present ..however they do try to upsell by inviting you on a cruise. didn't go we had a budget.

one thing.. could be my fault .. we selected the cake but what we got wasn't what we ordered in terms of the design. but in all we are very happy and continue to talk about the wedding on the boat. oh one more thing make sure on the rsvp that u indicate the departure and return of the boat ..we used the start of the cocktail hr as the time the boat departs, we also did not have kids.. lot of people were upset , most respected our wishes and after being on the boat they realized why we didn't.

I also tried to find info on li and planned that I would spare someone else who wanted to do ithe boat but need more info. we went out took a risk and are very very satisfied with the results. Hope this helps. I would do it again ...no regrets wonderful memories. Staff was great..only thing we heard from my brother was the fact that the bar crew had a tip bottle at the bars.. he felt that this should not have been done since they were getting tipped at the end of the cruise.. he also said he noticed if you tipped you got better service ..not to say the drinks were watered down ..we had no complaints about that hope this helps if not post again or FM
