An LIW bride is having her girls in Midnight blue. She wants suits vs. tuxes. She thinks black suits are out (too similar to navy ), I think if the guys wear navy they might blend with the girls. She said no to tan b/c of the time of the wedding. Can anyone help?

I would not do black and navy either. What about brown?

Re: Navy vs. Navy
im the LIW bride with the dilemma.....
FH really doesnt want to wear brown, im nervous about the two navy blues matching, and FH also doesnt wnt charcoal gray.
I think we might have found a compromise in a suit that would be this color though
I think the picture is actually something I was thinking about

Re: Navy vs. Navy
im a tool and very strict about all those cliche 'fashion faux pas'. So I am really against mixing navy blue and black...i just cant do it. Not even in every day life.
I also cant mix brown and black, even though apparently thats OK now. I have to change my coat and bag everyday depending on whether i am wearing brown or black....im crazy!
I have a swatch from my BM dresses, so I am going to bring that when we look for the suits on the off-chance we find a navy suit that isnt necessarily the exact shade, but still goes with it. But I think we are definitely going to have to go with gray.

I didnt really understand what you were looking for exactly at first but from ur last reply i finally understand
I think gray is DEFINATLY your best bet. Gray and navy go hand in hand.. but I know my FH wouldnt wear anything but black.. would your fh wear gray? Definatly hit up the tux stores with him and see how he likes gray.. A dark gray would be HOT

When I read this thread that's exactly what came to mind a dark gray would be perfect!

You will all be happy to know that we found charcoal gray tuxes and they are awesome! I used to have a champagne colored sash on my gown, but now cahnged it to platinum, to tie in with the tux better. So exciting!

Re: Navy vs. Navy
I'd say grey too ....
Honestly though, I was in a wedding a few years ago .... the girls wore navy dresses, the men wore black tuxes ... it didn't look bad in pics at all.
