Nd ideas on researching a first home

Help?!

We're looking to purchase our first home...Still unsure re: single or multi family residence. We currently reside in Queens but are looking for a town east Queens/western Nassau near the railroad.

How do we get started looking for profiles on towns & researching a first home?

Hi! I have been looking at http://www.Home.com and there you can search by town. It will also give you a profile of that town. If you find a house that you like the realtors name and phone number is listed with the house. You can also do a multi-search by town and price too.

I hope this helps.

Mineola, web sites & Thank you!

Do you know much about the school districts there? I've seen listings for SD 2 & 10. What's the difference?

So many great ideas! Thanks everyone! What's driving us is the type of property. We found a listing in mineola for a 4 family property that is the same that so close to what we'd spend on a 2 family. Of course, I need to inspect the facility but starting online is a great way to start. It increases your knowledge base so when you're dealing w/a broker, you can speak intelligently. Everyone buys realestate for different reasons.....and I do believe you need to be happy w/your location. But our primary goal is to purchase an income producing property....annvestment that will appreciate in the years to come.

I have much more work to do....we are not in a rush but are slowly picking up steam as we go along.

Thank you,

Look, if you checked the archives you would know that this was a hot topic. One that we all finally moved past. Not attacking, just trying to avoid another blow up -

Look, my history onthis board is one of being most helpful. I am not going to respond to any more of your messages.

Thanks -

Wow - that would be GREAT! :) Much appreciated!

I already booked a dj, but thanks for the advice.

I'd still like to know if anyone out there has any feedback on Spir Around? People who have already used them or been to a function? Anyone? I don't care if its not good feedback, I'd just like to know. I had a lot of feedback when I asked a few months ago, but now I realize that all the feedback came from people who hadn't used them yet. And although we feel good about our choice, I thought that maybe someone had first hand info. Thanks.
