Neat Add-ons to the wedding for guests

This wasn't at a wedding.. but my my company's X-mas party at Bridge Waters last year we had a last minute treat.

As we were leaving & heading out they had hot cocoa & warm baked cookies for the ride home.

This might be a good idea for those winter brides out there

One REALLY neat touch is to have personlized car air fresheners made and have the valet attendants hang them on the rear view mirror.

Slipper or flip flop baskets are very popular now.

Be careful with the airfreshners. Many people do not like smells like that and some have allergies which would greatly affect them in their cars. If you are going to put airfresheners in, then maybe make sure they stay wrapped....I thought it was cute but here lots of complaints from people about those types of 'smelly things'

Another great idea, espeially for a Saturday late night wedding is the Sunday times and a box of donuts or bagels.

I don't want any food given out before my wedding because we paid alot pp and I want people to gorge themselfs at cocktail hour/ dinner & fountain. WM offered to have coffee and cookie for guests before our ceromony and I said 'DO NOT FEED THEM ANYTHING! I want them to be starving at cocktail hour!'

I like the breaskast idea, our wedding ends at 1:30am. Maybe I will get small bags of dougnuts, and coffee!

We're doing a food cart with white castle (fh picked that one) and a table with lattes and muffins and bagels (thats the one I picked).

they were offering food before the wedding? i never heard of that, hmmm interesting

all the food carts or extras that ive seen with hot pretzels, coffee and all that is for after the wedding. The food cart is outside of the RH and guests get it as they are leaving.

my hall gave out chocolates at the end and i got air fresheners for the valets to put in the cars- i thought it was a nice touch.

I wouldn't worry about guests filling up before the ceremony.

They call it 'hospitality' on my RH contract and it's SO light. Mine is just tiny finger sandwiches, fresh fruits, and champagne. If anything, it might make them hungrier (like a little tease).

It's just to pass time while your guests are being 'rounded up' before the ceremony- parking, peeing, etc. It's a half hour long and for most will be more like 15 minutes or less.

I don't think you should cut it out- especially if it's included in the price, it's a nice touch IMO.

For my guests, I need to have this little cushion time because NONE of them are from Westchester and I expect some people getting lost etc. on the way. I don't want too many stragglers coming into the chapel during the ceremony.

You could tell them you prefer fruit to cookies. Seems a lot lighter.

To respond to the OP, we are having hot bags of zeppoles w/ powdered sugar on the way out. Our RH offered a choice of pretzels, zeppoles, and ices. We are having a sorbet intermezzo so that seemed redundant and the choice between pretzels and zeppoles seemed clear to me!

I was thinking of doing something in the cars but it's too much. I'm doing cds on easels as placecards, almond flowers, and favors- so I don't want to go overboard! Then it's like a bag of junk you take home from a convention!

At The Inn (which was my other choice- I'm getting married at Fountainhead though) they wash the windshield and put chocolates on the dash which I thought was ADORABLE! I thought about doing that myself but zeppoles are delicious and anyway I'm getting married in June so I thought the chocolate would melt.

I think you can do either.. for the muffins and bagel table I'm going to have little boxes made up that they can take and pick which flavor they'd like.. the cups for the lattes I wanna get personalized (idk anywhere i can get that done tho) and the white castle is gonna be in a coffee truck type thing to keep them warm

it was really strange but i went to a wedding at glen island where they gave you an ice on thr way out ... very very unexpected treat LOL is that suppossed to sober you up or something? lol

i love the food cart idea!!! I would do candy apples or the candy bag though since my wedding is during the day. Anyone have any idea how much these carts cost?

talk to your RH about this bc many have candy apples and might just be cheaper.

no...don't open the air freshener..I wouldn't want to smell up their cars
