My sister is my MOH and only BM. I don't have a ton to spend on her gifts - probably about $200 total - but I want to get her a nice necklace, something she will love and that will remind her of our friendship and bond as sisters. I looked at journey necklaces, and Overstock has a few for $125ish, which would leave me enough money to get her day of jewelry and maybe a $50 spa gift card or something from the coach outlet because she loves coach.
However .. I feel like I want to get her a tiffany necklace. I am waiting on an email from my brother in law for his opinion, but which do you like better? The journey is nice because it can signify our journey as sisters, best friends, confidants, wifes and whatever is to come, including motherhood (she is already a mom). But she loves brand name stuff, had a ton of coach bags but sold them all online about a year ago to make some $$. She would love a tiffany necklace I think. Not 100% sure.
What do you think??? Which ones do you like better?

See, the only thing about the journey is this. She got me for my 30th an eternity necklace ... I think that is what it's called. It's a circle with bagette-style diamonds all around it - facing out ... And it's a journey type thing. I know the one I picked is different, but it's sorta the same, and I wanted to do something different for her .... is this too close? Does it matter?

It's so funny I was thinking about you last night regarding the necklace and if you want to so something different - maybe a locket with a picture of you two inside and an engraved saying on the back?
I'm sorry - I love lockets. I got one for my mom as a wedding present. And putting a pic of her and my dad in there.....

I like the journey necklace. In my honest opinion -- I love Tiffany's and have a bunch of it myself, but some of it can look kind of young (for lack of a better description).
i think the meaning behind the journey necklace is so nice. Also what girl does not like diamonds?

Thanks. It's amazing how close we have gotten in the last 10 years. I think ever since I got home from college, basically, we became really good friends, not just sisters. We're going through so many of the same things I guess now instead of me going through them first (she is 3 years younger) - made us very close because I can talk to her about things we both have going on (the men in our lives, saving for a house, weddings, etc).

I don't know if she is the locket kind of person. If I found a really nice one though, I would consider it, because even if she didn't wear it a lot, it would have a lot of meaning. Off to look at overstock again. I looooove that place.

I see what you mean about the young look. the ring of hearts one isn't too young looking though, and it could also symbolize the different phases our friendship has been through ...

Probably not. She is going to have a brown dress, and I like the way gold looks with brown ... I may just buy her dangling gold / brown beaded earrings for the wedding, and give this to her as a gift. When we pick a dress, I'll have to think about how it would look .. maybe I would get silver earrings if I thought it would look nice.

sorry to crash but just wanted to make sure you knew that with the return to tiff hearts, if you go with that one, the hearts are smaller and the chain is very thin and short (not like a choker but doesn't hang down very much at all). DH got it for me and i love it!! ppl compliment me on it often. its more gentile than their usual tags, but DH was disappointed bc he expected the hearts would be that normal/larger size (tho i like mine better to be honest). so i just wanted to give you heads up bc you cant really tell from the pic that they're small. ignore me if you already knew that tho!! btw, i like the journey or the one i have.

I really like the Tiffany's ring of hearts, it is different and can symbolize the same thing as the journey necklace, so you could still write her a card eplaining what you think it symbolizes.
