Okay so I'm 42 and I get the feeling that overall this is a young crowd (lucky you!). I'm looking for a DJ that isn't a total 'Scene' kind of guy. We're looking for someone who gets dance-able rock. Nothing 'farty' or mellow, but nothing cutting edge either. Can anyone offer some names??
The date is in April 06 and I don't have a ton of time to plan!

FM Entertainment!!!!! Talk to Frank and tell him the atmosphere you want.. He will get the crowd there. THey are excellent!!!!!

Yeah?!!! - What kind of crowd/musical tastes? I'll tell you - with all the decisions... and we all know there are A LOT!!!!!!!!!!!! This one is kicking my butt!
My family of the 'Italian Cousins' are sort of my age and a little older - and they'll be into the dancable rock kind of thing - nothing cutting edge, no rap, no Madonna!
I'm also thinking no MC, no hand outs or props... and I really really don't know if I should do 'group' stuff - the electric slide and that sort of thing.
THis is TORTURE!!

Try Bravura.. they are very classy, non cheesy- exactly what we wanted. They are a vendor on here now.

We were both late 30's and wanted the same things as you do. Our DJ was fantastic - we were extremely pleased with his work.

Any good DJ will be able to play the only songs you want while keeping the crowd dancing and entertained.
We are using In the Mood DJ.
