need a dress for a wedding...

hello ladies - i have a question!
i have a wedding next week, its an afternoon wedding. i dont have much cash and really wanted to get something new because i think the dresses i have are a bit too formal for an afternoon wedding.

i was thinking about wearing a lace tank-top with a black skirt....
is it innapropriate to wear a strappy shoe now?

any suggestions as to what i can wear? also maybe where in suffolk i can get a cheap lil' get up?!

In PJ Cinema's shopping center- across from the meadow club- it is in the corner by K-B Toys

Her wedding is at Watermill- right?

I think the lace tanktop with a skirt would look great for a day wedding, as long as you wear black and black- it will look like a dress

AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH !!!!
learn something new everyday!

i went to TJ Max and Marshalls the other day - i only found one dress and i loved it but i felt so gross in it because it was beige and i felt so pale. i was going to go back and try it on this week because i have been using some tanning cream, so hopefully that might make a difference.

i didn't know about shoes - can i wear something strappy with no nylons or is that tacky because its cold?

Re: need a dress for a wedding...

I know ALOT of people don't wear stockings and wear something strappy on their feet no matter what time of year.

I think you will be fine- you are pretty tan normally (well compared to me- lol) so that makes it even better!

ugh, ok - thanks for the advice!

i will let you know what i decide to do!

i fell in love with this dress but it really washed me out - it was beige but i felt like it matched me!

I could picture you looking really pretty in beige with your hair color and skin coloring. But definitely give Mandee's a chance.

How's Shea? Not to change the subject, but when you just got Shea, what did you do with her during work hours? We are going to be getting our puppy in July and I am worried about what to do when I go back to work . . .

Re: need a dress for a wedding...

awh, i know - its tough when u get a pup - u never want to leave her. we started with leaving baby gates up in our kitchen for her. we felt bad leaving her in a crate all day. shea really didn't like it because she slept with us. : )
after about a month, i came home and one of the gates fell on top of her crated area and i freaked out that they might hurt her, so we gave her the run of the place.
i know its not the 'right' thing to do but we didn't care. shes our baby and is pretty much aloud to do whatever she wants!

let me know if you need any other suggestions about the pupper!

BTW - thanks for the compliment about the dress

Re: need a dress for a wedding...

did you train her to go on wee wee pads?

Re: need a dress for a wedding...

yes and she still goes.
becuase we live in a co-op and shes so tiny, we will always use them.
when we first got her, the grass was taller than her so she never walked through it.

we buy them on ebay - we get like 300 of them for like 30 bucks! they lasted us 2 years!!!!
