Thanks, Karen. I remember those postings and will take her there 'just to see'....I'm curious - where did you get your dress from? Davids? I'd like to take her to a few shops and am trying to not do it blindly.

I bought my dress in Bayshore. Convenient b/c I work in Stony Brook so I was able to go for fittings on my lunch hour. My sister lives in Flushing and works in Astoria so we're flexible on locations.....

I heard that Flowerama on Mrytle Ave. is great. I just went to my friends wedding on Saturday and that is where she got her dress. She looked beautiful and the dress was very reasonably priced. I believe it was $650 and the alterations were extra.

Good luck on your search. Let us know if you find a wonderful place in Queens. I live in Queens and will be looking shortly.

And the 17 are the ones that I am closest to- travel wise. I understand completely that some of them cannot come due to medical prob in their fam..but all 24? And this includes my godmother. And I have heard that my Godfather will prob not come in from Cal either. So, I am trying to be very calm, and not throw a pity party for myself. I won't worry about those POSSIBLE no's until I know it is a "NO" for sure.... and I know the day is about Rob & I myself and the Priest and Rabbi...but..oh well..sigh I just wish..I can't even count on my Bro being there...and my parents are deceased....oh whatever. thanks for allowing me to vent a little...in an understanding environment.

Hi Karen,

I live in Queens and have went to every bridal store in the area and still have not bought my dress. Definitely try Saymels and Flowerama if your sister knows exactly what she wants. I would also try the small shops in Bayside (Charisol and Charmet) - you may get lucky. My next stop is RK bridal - I'll let you know how it goes. nicole

So.... make a big fuss about that, how you can't believe so-and-so is there and "what are you doing in town!" etc. and of course how delighted you are that they came all that way to be there.

Thanks - I know where Charmet is (Bell Blvd, right?) Where is Charisol?

Have you been to Avic on Northern by 196St or the shop next to Wright Studios?

I'm going to start taking her around in the next few weeks....

I think Charisol is right near Wright Studios..

My MOH is getting married in Jan and she got her dress at Brava on Austin Street in Forest Hills. She was very very pleased and wants me to look there (I will do it when I return from vacation on June 5th). Their phone # is 718-544-5249.

I haven't been to Avic (haven't even heard of them - are they worth trying??) Charisol is on Northern Blvd and 159th Street. If your sister is planning on wearing sleeveless - this is the place to go. But I'm getting married in February and they only had two dresses with sleeves - I was really disappointed. They do have a large selection of bridemaids dresses - I may be back there for that. Good Luck.
