Need a Hotel... sad story:forlorn:

Okay ladies... here it is. Very long

On 8/2, I spoke with someone at Oheka to book a room for a night of the wedding. I gave the woman over the phone the date that I was interested in. She then quoated me a rate (considering I wasn't a bride of Oheka) and asked if I would like to book it over the phone, and I said that I would rather wait until my FH and I saw the room, and she was okay with it. She mentioned that she would not be available on the day the day that we would like to see it, but someone would be happy to show us the room.

When we arrived, we received a totally different story. the person at the front desk was UTTERLY rude to us, and said that no one was available to show us a room. WE took it in stride. We explained to her that we came all the way from the Pelham. She didn't seem to care. My FH asked to speak with the manager. The woman called the manager, and whispered something to her over the phone. When the manager arrived, she said that there were no rooms available for our date - they're BOOKED! We asked how could that be, she seemed unmoved. She gave us a bag with a video of Oheka (although we can't stay there), and apologized. She then suggested that we look into The Garden City Hotel.

Well, my FH and I are convinced that the episode was race related. So, now we need to find a nice place for me to get ready and for us to stay for the night. If you guys have suggestions, I would really appreciate it.

I am so sorry they did that to you. That was very rude! What area do you need? I will find you a hotel!

I can't help you with the hotel, but I want to say that that is really messed up. You should send a white decoy couple in to ask for the same date and see what happens. I would just SOOOO love to be able to prove something like that and catch them in the act. Call 7 on our side!

Best of Luck!

It amazes me as well... there are a few women on this board who knows me and have met Bryan. We are far from 'straglers.' And are very poised...

I'll be honest and say that I was very hurt by their actions.

Wow that is some accusation to make! I think that you are wrong based on some information that I was given. Is your wedding on a thursday night? If so, then the information that I have probably explains why? If its not a thursday, then I am wrong.

It's no accusation - I am merely speaking on how i was treated. I couldn't get into all the specifics, in my initial email - it's just too much to write.

Yes, my wedding is on a Thursday.

If there is information that is specific to thursday night bookings why could they not have just said that A. When Ericia called intially. I assume that would be standard policy or something. But even if there is some kind of special conditions that exist.....There is no excuse for rudeness.

Ericia..dont worry honey. Better to spend your night somewhere that makes you 100% comfortable.
