i'm thinking about going into business for myserlf. please let it be known that i'm not trying to advertise for myself at all, this doesn't even exist yet. but i'm reasearching before i invest.
i'm am thinking of starting an online travel agency that will have very competitive prices with all the major online travel sites. how inclined would you be to book with someone that you know and give them the commission rather than paying mr. expedia?? there are other ways to make money with this company, if i wanted to go that route, which is getting other people to sign-up for their own site. but i'm more interested in just the travel end of it. my father is more interested in the networking part. this company is very legit, traded on the stock exchange. please take my poll and please comment if you'd like to explain.

hmm this is tough. I haven't put much thought on that. I think some people these days are not to loyal to any travel means unless that person shows a real knowledge about the trips & planning aspect or offers the best prices. There is a lot of competition in that market & I am not sure what the profit margin is there to remain competitive. If you have the right 'hook' for clients to return to you I am sure you can make it work.

It's hard to say....I have never used a travel agent before but I've also never booked a trip where I really needed one (i.e. multi-island hawaii trip or something like that that is more complicated)....but if it were online I might consider....

see my father is more into the marketing part of the deal. i'm more interested in researching different types of vacations so i can suggest different things. after planning a HM i thought about all sorts of different options. i just think it would be fun and it's not like i would lose any money over it.

i think its something i would consider - esp if its cheaper than the rest. People are always looking for a deal.

If it was someone I knew personally, like you, I would be likely to book but ONLY if the prices really were less than the other sites. My MOH's mom used to do something like this - if you want to talk to my MOH let me know... I'm sure she'd be happy to fill you in on any issues/problems her mom encountered.
