Lilletes refuses to tell you the names of the designers or dresses - but they don't rip all the tags out so you can read it for yourself.

thats not true. my sister got her Mori Lee dress from Lilette's in baldwin. the tag may not have been in the gown, but they told her the designer

When i went they refused to tell me the designer of any dress except the maggie sottero's - but they wouldn't tell me what the name of the sottero's i tried on where ex: ashleigh or the sizes i was wearing - and they said point blank they don't want me to go look online and price shop. Maybe it depends on the sales associate or the dress you are trying on. Or maybe they were suspicious b/c i ask alot of questions (i'm inquisitive by nature). I dont know. But I know everybody has had different experiences at different salons.

ETA: I just wanted to clarify - I liked lilletes I'm not saying it's a bad store or anything - if you look at my previous posts i strongly encourage brides to go look there, they have a gorgeous assortment and let you try on as many as your heart desires. I also know people who have ordered from them and had nothing less than a fabulous experience! I think you should definetly go to Lilletes - the purpose of my post was to merely say that they may not answer all of your questions and perhaps certain dresses/designers they will not tell you. But as long as you know that going in and are prepared then you won't be dissapointed!

no harm, girl!! its all good

I have never heard of this - what is the point of ripping out the tag? Isn't it illegal to sell a brand dress without giving the designer credit?

they do it b/c if you find out the mfg name and model #, you can order it online.

I found my dress for almost 1/2 the price online after I bought it. But since the store I bought from provided me with such great service, I was ok with it. the woman at the bridal salon spent over 2 hours with me and helped me find “the one” and when I brought my mom back to show her the gown she spent another hour & a ½ with us.

They can also try passing off another fabric as something that it's not. It's possible that you could pay the high price of silk dutchess and it could a lower quality fabric. The tag is supposed to have the fiber content as well, and the care instructions as well as the country of origin. HTHS

HI,
the stores take out the tags on all the dresses girls try on...so they won't know the name and style number and get the dress somewhere else for cheaper....

it's awful...
