Danielle and I are doing low carb and we can not have flour. I am making chicken cacciatorre tonight for dinner in the crock pot and I was wondering if there was a way to thicken the sauce without using white flour?
Someone told me to puree the sauce in a blender or food processor...but I wasnt sure if that was good or not.
Any other ideas as to what I can add to the sauce? Thanks, Scott

Re: Need a Way to thicken Sauce
I didnt buy any thickener, I just decided to put a little extra paste into the sauce....I dont think it will be that thin...I made meatballs and threw them in there too...It smells yummy.
Want the recipe, here it is:
Chicken Cacciatore
Ingredients: 2 Tbs olive oil 3 lbs chicken breasts, boneless Salt and pepper to taste 1/2 tsp black pepper 1 small onion, chopped 1 lb fresh mushrooms, thickly sliced 2 cloves garlic, minced 1/4 cup flour 1/2 dry white wine 1/2 cup chicken broth 2 Tbs tomato paste 1 14 1/2-oz can diced tomatoes, drained 1 tsp dried basil leaves 1/2 tsp dried oregano leaves 1/2 tsp dried thyme leaves Directions: Add onions to bottom of stoneware. Add chicken, and then top chicken with remaining ingredients. Cover cook on Low 7 to 9 hours or on High 4 to 5 hours.
I just didnt put the onions in or the flour. Scott
