I am having a very small bridal party-only a maid of honor. I have other friends who mean something to me that I would like them to participate in some way. I am having a ceremony, not a mass, are there still readings? is there anything else they can do? i have about 3 people i want to include...

Re: Need advice
I think that they still do some readings - not sure how many though. You could also ask them to play a special role during that day like helping you get ready, bringing some of your things to the church/hall...just try to get them involved in your big day - they will be thrilled!! Good luck!

Re: Need advice
There will be two readings.
You can have the other friends act as ushers, distribute programs, distrube rose petals, etc...

Hi date twin. I still owe you an FM.
3 of my best guy friends are ushers in my wedding. I too wanted them to play in a role in the big day but I already had 7 bridesmaids and FH had 8 groomsmen. So they will be seating guests, handing out programs, making sure people know how to get to the reception, etc. THey are absolutely thrilled.
Also, you should definitely have 2 readings in your ceremony I think. My friend got married at your church with a ceremony and that is what they had.
Do any of them have special talents - singing, guitar, etc?

We did a ceremony only and had 3 readings. Old testament New testament Prayer of the Faithful (I think)

Re: Need advice
When my best friend got married, she did not want to have a bridal party, because she didn't want to be forced to make a specific cousin a BM. So, she only had her sister be MOH and she called me the unofficial bridesmaid. I was with her all day, helped her get dressed and all of that, and I'm the one who signed her marriage certificate - so there are definitely things you can do to honor close friends!

We are only doing a ceremony and there will still be some readings. I am having some friends read who I would have loved to have been in my bridal party but couldn't.
