Need advice

Hi girls again.
Will you please advise me when did you start looking and booking your vendors.
Also I don't have slightest idea which vendor I should book first and I'm getting nervous thinking about everything I have to do.

So what should I do first?

I started as soon as FH and I moved up our wedding from 2010 to 2009 and that was in January. The RH was first and then flowers, photographer / videographer and DJ came next.

I started as soon as was in contract w/ RH. I went on appt. frenzy and before i knew it, i was done

i booked RH, photographer (those go quickly!), DJ, flowers, and I think officiant LOL i'm not sure what's going on with that. i'm not using limos so i haven't had to worry about them. GOOD LUCK and don't worry - you'll get it all done!

Ok first, just breathe!!

Ok now the most important would be your date. Go RH shopping and get that first.

Once you have a date and RH, go to your other vendors, photography, DJ/band, flowers, etc. What really helped us out was making a list of a bunch of photographers we wanted to see and we met with them and then made a decision. We would move on to the next vendor and do the same. Also, if you are planning on getting married in January I would also start looking for a dress bc they take awhile to come in.

I would say ceremony and reception locations are first . . . everything will fall in place from there!

Defintely find a RH and place for ceremony (if they're not the same) first. Everything else will just work into that!

I started 2 months after he proposed. I had my RH & Church by Feb. of 08 which was my Eparty month as well.

So RH & then the church (unless you are getting married at RH or another place of worship etc.) Then I booked my DJ, photo/video florist & limos & then I purchased my dress. HTH & Good Luck! Dont be nervous just make some appts & start thinking abotu what you like & want & then go from there. These people are really helpful in making your vison fo ryour day come to life!

We got engaged in Aug. 07 and I think I found out about LIW in Sept. FH and I checked out almost all RHs websites and made a list of the ones we would actually consider. We went to about 15 of them before deciding. We started looking in Oct. and we were booked in Dec. In between all that we were in contact with my church and met with the priest. As far as vendors go, try to go to showcases to get an idea of who you might want to consider and then make appointments with the ones most important to you first. For us it was photog/video.

It can be overwhelming but we're all here to help out. Good luck! You'll be fine!

I booked the most important first- Photographer, Videographer, and DJ. Then I did flowers. I am the kind of person that has to have things done ASAP. Definetly start getting quotes from venders now.Don't get nervouse just make sure that every weekend you set a side some time to check out some venders. Good luck planning.

advice, you need to find your RH first! Then I say dj and photography. Everything will follow from there.

FH & I booked the RH, Florist, Photographer, Video & Limousines within 2 weeks after our engagement.
My advise: start making appointments to see halls & meet with all these vendors................ get the major things out the way................ and then work on invitations, favors, save-the-dates, bridal gown, honeymoon, etc............

It helps to be organized.............. manage your time wisely!!!!!

We started looking at RHs about a week after we got engaged! haha Wasted no time! We booked about a month after. Then got in the DJ, photographer and florist. Next is the officiant! That's the most important part! Good luck to you!

I would do RH first! Then try the vendors that are providing a service that they can only committ to one a day...for example, your dj...your dj cannot be at your party AND at another party at the same time. Also your photog and videog. I would then do limos and flowers.

Dont stress, everything will fall into place!

I think the RH/Church and officiant should be first! Then I think Photographer/Videographer should be next up. Then in my opinion it's up to you the order you go in. What is most important to you about the wedding for me it is the place, our pastor and the pictures so that is what I did first. Then I worked on Flowers, DJ, Limos, Dresses, Save the Dates, makeup and hair. I also bought lil accessories along the way. Hope this helps! Let us know what we can do.
