Need advice...

Need advice...

For months I have been trying to decide if I should add photojournalism onto my photography package. I thought it was something i HAD to have but I'm wondering if its really worth it. It would be $900 dollars more to add on and I wouldn't get any additional prints or images in my album, just more proofs. FH thinks it will just make it harder to choose pics for the album or we will end up adding more images which will make the price even higher. I don't know what to do. My photographer isn't really known for photojournalism so I'm not even sure how much different it will be from his regular style. Do you think I should go and ask to see examples? Or do you think the regular pics will be fine and that I should let it go? I'm going crazy lol.

Sorry so long.

It depends on what is important to you. If you are ok with the traditional look pictures then just stick to what you have. But if you really into the photojournalistic pictures then go for it. I personally love the candid shots they express such great emotion.

It's such a personal decision. Do you think you'll regret it if you don't??

it all depends on you, its your pics and your taste so its something you have to want. Some prefer photojournalism while others prefer traditional.

For me i wanted photojournalism, this is how i wanted my pics and what was important to me. I didnt hire a traditional photographer, just photojournalistic photographers.

IF its something you also want then go for it, but if you dont care about PJ style of pics then save the money.

Probably lol. I guess I should go ask for examples of the photojournalism they do so I can see if its worth it bc if I do it and then get the proofs and don't really think they are great, I'll be mad. I think I'm just getting overwhelmed with all the money flying out the door

It really depends on what you want .. We knew wanted photojournalism albums so we only looked for those packages and found a really good one in our price range. It includes 100 pics in our album and we will probably choose more ... but honestly you dont really need more than 100 in your ablums ... our proofs are incuded plus we are getting them on a CD so we can just go and print out the ones we wanted and make a whole other album ... which will be a fun DIY project for us after the wedding!

It depends on what you like. Photojourn is more like 'action' photos - not the stand in a row and look at the camera and smile.....Check it out - see some samples....

Who is your dj?? I am using Starlite express and they charged me .... i cant remem but def less than $900 ..... for a photojournalist... they use the snap shots for the tv screens and then are going to give me a cd of the pics at the end....

i did this too and forgot how much extra it was. Starlight also sends the photographer to your church to take pics, BUT some photographers ask you dont have any other photographer at the church taking pics. So i had to tell starlight that their photographer cant come to the church to take pics bc my photographer said no other photographers at the church. But we did get about 400 pics at the reception and they used them that night to put on the plasmas. I had told them when i booked though that they can come to the church but found out later on and had to change it

obviously they wont be there for getting ready pics and dont think they go to where youre taking pics to do this either, yeah probably not

Not really sure. Most photographers should be able to take some photojournalistic stuff anyway. Can you talk to your photographer and ask him? I was worried the other way around, that I wouldnt have enough trad since my guy is mostly photojournallistic but he said he'd take what I wanted.. don't know. .

It's your style preference really. Do you feel the need to have it? Will you regret if you didn't get it?

Are you using a DJ or Band? I have 500 candid shots included in my DJ package. My friend had the DJ take candid shots and they gave it to her at the end of the night on a disc...the pictures were great! Just an idea.

I have a DJ, but I'm not doing Zap Shots or anything so I guess I can see how the prices compare, between adding on the zap shots as opposed to the photojournalism package. I think I'm going to go to the photographer and ask to see some examples of their photojournalism to see if i really love it and if its 100% necessary. Hopefully seeing the woirk will make the decision easier, one way or another. Thanks girls!!
