So i went for my first fitting last night. And i hate the way my veil looks with the dress. I got it at Tri county, there is nothing wrong with the veil, i just don't like the way it goes with the dress... i got a great price at Tri county. Of course, i fell in love with a veil at the bridal store. perfect length, color matches, the beading on the veil match my dress perfectly!! problem.... its $345!!! What should i do?? I plan on wearing my veil the whole night, so its going to be in ever picture. Ive been sooo good at sticking to budget. My dress was less than $1,000. Argh!!! opinions please?? thanks for letting me vent.

Try E-bay. You'll probably find the same veil cheaper there. Frankly, I find very little reason why any veil should cost $100, let alone over $300.

I would say if it is really going to bother u the one that u bought already and u are going to have the picture in your mind about the one that u saw then i would just buy it and say oh well the dress was under what u wanted to spend u got a good deal on that so then go for the veil u want!!

That is unreal, I had my veil custom made and it was not that much. Try reselling yours on ebay and getting a new one..........

I also fell in love with the veil at the bridal salon, where I bought my dress. It was priced at $449 the tiara $350.
I told them that pricing was ridiculous. I really haggeled over the price of my dress and the veil (the veil is so perfect) I ended up getting them down to $99 for the veil.
You might want to try the whole, 'I have spent a lot of money here and I'd like to be able to recommend you in the future' or else look elsewhere for something just like what you tried on there. If you let them know you plan to do that their price might suddenly drop. (I'm in sales.)
Side note: As far as the Tiara, I went to the designer's studio in NYC and he was so pompous and rude that I'd rather shave my head and go bald than wear one of his overpriced pieces. So I am still looking. Unfortunately I loved that one piece so much I'm having a hard time finding something comparable.

Sell the veil you have on e-bay and buy the one you want. You should be totally happy with the way you look.

I also haggled my veil down by 150.00.. I told them that I could not justify spending that much on a veil; after a couple of minutes the price was reasonable!

I would try reselling your veil as others have suggested and then work on finding the veil you love cheaper, I think you can find it! If not, I personally would splurge and buy the veil you want, I worre mine all night and I loved it, it wsa just plain with a few pearls on it, but I loved my veil..get the one you love, dont settle, if its going out of your budget, is there soemwhere else you can cut back?

My honest opinion: If this is the veil that you love...forget about the other one and buy this one! You said you've been good with your budget anyway. Why should u be unhappy?

Buy the one you want. ESPECIALLY if you have been so good sticking to budget- you deserve it!

I agree - You don't want to be uncomfortable - And sometimes the prices are justifiable - I tried on a veil (Before I knew the price) it was all hand made, hand beaded -absolutley stunning - it was $2,200 - Would I SPEND that on a veil ? - NO, b/c I can not afford it - BUT many people can, and do - The veil you LOVE may very well be worth the $400 they're asking for it - But i'm SURE you can find something similiar
