So for a while now my mom came up with the idea of having a meet and greet in the hotel conference room the day before the wedding, as we are not having a rehearsal until the day of. We planned on having all the OOT baskets there for all the guests could pick them up and we were gonna have like a buffet style party with food we were gonna buy from costco. We also planned on showing home videos of us in the room as we have one of those pull down screens. The room is free with the blocks so it is def an inexpensive option to an RD. What type of food should we have if we do this all cold or some hot?
The other option would be having it at a restaurant, whih I have been thinking about lately

I think this is such a great idea and the best part is the space is free!! After spending all the money on the wedding, you should utilize things you are getting free. Getting some hot food shouldn't cost too much either.

nobody will know its free unless you tell them!!! you can be renting it out separate and so what?! you and FH are paying for this ... people should and will be grateful! I'd say take it ... it will work our wonderfully!!!

Ren, go for it and stop telling people its free or prices. Love the idea and bringing in food it okay. They should be happy you are feeding them. It more of a gtg and a relax setting.

i responded on the BHB- but we are doing exactly this with paninnis and salads...hot food is greatttt and i would have preferred it but it gets a bit complicated keeping it hot for hours and is more $..the BIG wedding is the next day. dont worry ppl will appreciate the meal and the time you spend with them! it's not cheap!

If you have stirnos then hot food will be ok but def. have some cold food. salads, hero . everyone just traveled so I am sure they would love to just get something in your bellys

I'd say definitely take advantage of the free room and order hot food from a restaurant. I like the idea of showing the videos too.

Ren we are doing the same thing and i think we are using the same hotel. we are ordering platters from Bjs. We are getting a cold cut platter, fruit platter and a veggie platter. We are also getting 2 large heros made at the deli counter. I have no intentions of cooking a thing and this would all cost about 100- 150 bucks which is much less than if we paid for dinner for all of our OOt guests,,,we have so many
