I would be honest with her. The wedding I went to 2 weeks ago had a 2yr old & a 5 year old. The older girl was VERY jealous of the baby & rightfully so - everyone was focused on the baby. As for the 2yr old - she cried the whole walk down & her father (not in a tux) had to walk her down the isle.
I'm sure it could work out well but here's one situation where it could have gone better.

Does your church allow young children? I know that some churches have an age limit....

Ahh, here comes the first lesson that I've learned as a married woman:
If you know these people through your fi, let HIM talk to them! If you do it, you will catch all kinds of hell! They will listen to him, but not you. They will be hurt by you, but not him... ______________________________________
This is one of the best pieces of advice you will need in your marriage. Let him be the bad guy with his family and friends. They will forgive and forget what he says - but not what you do or say.
As for wagons in church? That doesn't work for me either. For girls who like it, I think it's great for them to have found that option. But in my opinion, who is to say she would even sit in it the whole time? What if she tries to crawl out as it's being pulling? No, stick to your guns. If explained properly the parents should be reasonable enough to understand that your 7 yr. old FG was chosen and asked some time ago and you're skipping the 17 month old entirely because of her age - absolutely no other reason. How old were her FL and RB?

I think you are 100% right, the baby will be way too young to walk on her own, and the mother is out of line. But just remember that the decision you make now may come back in the end to bite you. My co worker was in a similar situation, and said no to a baby in the wedding. years later, when my co worker had a baby, she was never asked to put her daugher in the wedding and she thinks it was out of spite for the origional decision.
Its all up to you... you just get one wedding!!!

Let your FH be honest with his friends and show your concerns. But please do understand that there is something bound to happen that may effect your perfect day. It will be hard to keep from all problems. But I definately think if you do not want the baby then you should not be forced into it by someone else.
