Need Advice for friend on gift

Ladies you are always full of ideas...
my BM has been dating her not FH yet for three years.
dec 1 they are taking the big step and moving in togehter.. a ring isn't far behind.....
My girlfriend wants to get her not-yet-FH a little gift as a token of taking the 'next step' something he can keep forever etc.... nothing overwhelming or super expensive

any ideas??

she'll hopefully be on here in a few months planning a vineyard aug 08 wedding if all goes well!!!!

This is true-a nice chain or even a bracelet (if he would wear it) but I think a watch is a great idea

When I moved in with FH (He was boyfriend at the time) I got him a silver keychain and had the date we moved in engraved on one site and the nickname I call him on the other. He loved it and put our house key right on it.
