Need advice: Going to move to queens... which area?
Original post by bridetobe04
FH and I are gonig to be moving to Queens shortly. We arent sure which area though. We do know that we want a nice area that I would be able to walk to the subway to get to the city for work, and he works in Little Neck, so it should be close to that. We are also just starting out, so money is a little tight. Any info on certain areas would be great! Thanks ladies!!

I've only been there once, but I thought Sunnyside was nice.
Also, Forest Hills and Kew Gardens are very nice.

I agree....I grew up in Middle Village and it is a quiet safe neighborhood. Glendale and Bayside are also nice.

I live in Forest Hills and love it! The subways here are the E, F, R, and V and I live less than 5 minutes away! There are great restaurants and lots of things to do here! We live in a huge 2-bedroom apartment (with a separate dining room) and pay under $1700/month. We are also near the LIRR. I highly recommend Forest Hills. If you need help, please FM me! Good luck!

Forest Hills is great! My FH lives in Rego Park and I love it because its super quiet and the train is only 3 blocks away. There are other areas of Queens that are great too, but I'm not sure of the names.
Forest Hills Gardens is such a beautifullllllll area too, but its probably super pricey.

Auburndale and Bayside (both have LIRR stops) They are part of the Port Washington Line and it goes directly into Penn. There are NO transfers. Express trains usually take 20 mins from Penn to Bayside and local about 30mins. Little neck is about 10mins from these areas.
