Need Advice- Is this too expensive??
I recently went looking for bm dresses with one of the bridesmaids. After several stores we found a dress that we both love. The problem is it is expensive. It will cost at least 300 dollars. They would definately be able to wear them again. The style and color of the dress are not very bridesmaidy. Thanks for your help!

In my opinion...
It is on the pricey side .. but I`m not the one buying it. Check with your girls. They may be willing to splurge, especially if they know they can get good use out of it. Let them make the decision, and make sure they feel no pressure from you to say 'ok' if they`re really not comfortable with the price. The dress my girls bought cost around $200. The replica that was made for the 4 1/2-year-old flower girl cost $190! But I split the cost with her mom .. I just didn`t feel comfortable asking them to spend that kind of money for a dress she`ll probably only get to use once.

Thanks for your advice. The girl I took with me is the one who would have the biggest problem with spending a lot of money. She loved it and she not mind but I am still wary. Unfortunately, we all live in differesnt states. I will try to get them all to look at the dress and decide. Thanks again!

Check out Mori Lee...
Check out the Mori Lee website www.morileeinc.com. I know that their bridesmaid dresses are all under $150.00. Most bridal boutiques carry them, you just have to ask (they don't like to show you the lower priced ones). Ours are $111.00, from Mori Lee. I know you said the girls will wear them again, but think how many times a bride has told you that about the dress you have bought for their wedding, and it sits in your closet for years. I think $300.00 is too much. Once you add shoes, gloves, and all the extras that is a lot to ask of them. Just my opinion... good luck what ever you choose. :)

My 2 cents
I understand how you feel about asking people to spend that much on a gown. Yes $300.00 is a lot, but if everyone can do it and everyone Loves the dress why not go for it. Personally I would try to get the choice narrowed down to two or three gowns with different prices and let them decide what they want.

Need Advice- Is this too expensive??
As a bride who has been a bridesmaid several times, $300 is a bit much. See if you can get a discount or price it at other places, like RK Bridals in the city (www.rkbridals.com) or David's Bridal. My girls ended up picking a $200 dress, and I thought that was high, but that's the one they liked and they didn't mind paying it. Good luck.

Need Advice- Is this too expensive??
I think $300.00 is too high. There are so, so many dresses out there for under $200.00. Plus they still have your shower and a wedding gift. I think if you have to ask, then you know the answer. Why not look on line for the dress. I saw a photo of a wedding dress I liked and it was priced in the stores for $1500. A girl from the Ultimate Wedding chat boards gave me a site to get it for $740.00. Anyway, take the style of the $300.00 dress and look for it in a $200.00 price range. Try David''s Bridal. They do a lot of knock-off dresses.

Thanks
I really love the dress, so I am going to find 1 or 2 more that I like and give them a choice. My biggest issue is that since we all live in different states it is hard to look for dresses with them. Maybe I will let them look for dresses on their own. Thanks again!

Well...would you want to spend that much on a dress to be a bridesmaid..even if you love it, how often do you spend that much money on a dress?? I think it is a lot..plus they have to get shoes and bras..and purses if they want, their hair done that day..it gets so expensive, my vote is to look around..since you already are concerned that it is too expensive, I would look around.Welcome New Vendors
