FH and I went to Boston yesterday to pick out my wedding band. I wanted it to match my ering, and unfortunately they didn't have anything in the store that did. This jeweler made my ering, it's their original design. They told me in order to match my ering exactly I would need to leave them my ering for 10 days, so they can make the matching band. I guess I get why they need the ring, and they are a VERY reputable place, but I'm a little nervous about leaving it there. Has anyone had to do this to have their wedding band made???

I didn't have mine made but I have heard of this from friends who have. You should ask if he will give you a replacement ring to wear for the 10 days. I know it's not the same as your ring but at least it's something. And remeber - you've got to give a little to get a little. Ten days without your ring might not be ideal but in the end you will have a beautiful wedding band that you are going to cherish forever.

Some places (like Elsa's, I hear) will just take a mold of your e-ring so they can match up your wedding band to it without you having to leave it at their store. Maybe look into that???

I got a mold of mine made...so I didn't have to leave it there. Ask if that is an option.

I had to leave my ering for 8 days to get it sized....it was a LONG time!!!! But I trusted our jeweler and my diamond has a number sketched in it, so JUST incase something did happen, they would be able to track it down.
But don't worry. I'm sure it will be OK there!!!

If it is the same place you bought the ering from it should def be okay. I would trust them.
