Need advice on my bridal party.

Hello! I already asked my 7 bridesmaids to be my maids. I handmade picture frames for each bridesmaid. My fiance now decides he wants to have 9 groomsmen. I am ok with the uneven bridal party. The concern is: I did not include my fiance’s brother's girlfriend as my maid. I now feel if my fiance adds 2 extra men, how will she feel that she was not included in the bridal party?! She knows I asked my girls to be in the bridal party. I need your advice. What should we do?!

Need advice on my bridal party.

Have they been together a long time? Would you be open to adding her? If you have a relationship with her and feel that you would like her up there, I would include her but I wouldn't include her just because FH is adding more men.

Need advice on my bridal party.

What was the reason he suddenly wants to add 2 more?? Do you have a brother that hes including?? Personally it would bug me to have an uneven bridal party, but adding her just because is unnecessary if you dont want to. Having a bridal party with that amounf is a cost already. HTH!

if you have a good relationship with her, it is up to you. Consider the fact that she may or may not be your sister in law in the future though....

Re: Need advice on my bridal party.

If you aren't close with your fiance's brother's girlfriend, then adding her now might look like an afterthought, IMO. And seven girls is a good number too! I have 7 girls too, and I'm already starting to save up for all of the gifts! Honestly though, your girls are the ones who are going to stand up for you on one of the most important days of your life. I chose my girls very carefully for that reason, and I also know that every one of them has been there for me whenever I needed them. I can't imagine my wedding day without a single one of them :) My advice is to honestly ask yourself if this is a person who you can depend on without even thinking about it. If the answer is anything other than yes, then you shouldn't feel obligated to include them as a member of your bridal party.

Need advice on my bridal party.

i am NOT having my fiance's brothers girlfriend in my wedding. they've been together for about a year ... and we DO NOT have a relationship.

she has criticized my ring... my ideas and my parents (by making a comment when FH and I said we were paying for the wedding)...so I'm close to smacking the B****.

i'm actually hoping they break up.

(end rant... sorry. I can't STAND her)

i chose my girls because i can't live without them. i also asked my FSIL (FH sister) because i ADORE her and we get along SO well.

Choose who you want in your bridal party based on your relationships with the girls.

Not because you feel obligated.

(which.. by your post ... i think you may feel obligated)

Need advice on my bridal party.

in my opinion having a brother or sister's bf/gf is something no one should do. my bff when her sister got married years ago asked her brother's gf at the time to be in her bridal party. now anytime they see the pictures they are like that evil ******** lol. they were together for 8 years too! they assumed they'd get married.

Need advice on my bridal party.

If it makes you feel any better, my FH's sister isn't in our wedding party at all. I offered to him that she could stand on his side, but he said a big NO to that.

I would definitely keep it to people YOU want and YOU have a relationship with. You don't have to invite peopl just because they are related/not related/dating :)

Need advice on my bridal party.

Don't worry about having an uneven amount of BMs to GM. One of my girls declined which left us with an uneven amount. At first I was really upset until I realized it doesn't matter in the long run. If you are close with her, add her...I'm sure she'll be happy either way. The only reason you shouldn't is if you feel obligated to in my opinion!

Maybe you could ask her to do another task like a reading or hand out programs or something like that.

Need advice on my bridal party.

I don't think it's necessary. Right now she's just a girlfriend, no blood relation to either side and no in-law relation. Although I am including my FSIL I am not including my FBILs wives even though I love them, and that IS an in-law situation.

Need advice on my bridal party.

I think it should be who you want, not based on hurting someones feelings. Also FH was added as a groomsmen to my cousins wedding later on & was not insulted, in fact he was honored. When they got engaged we were only together a year, when they go married we were together over 4. In fact, at their wedding is when he asked my parents permission to marry me. I'd do whatever you feel in your heart. They are your bridesmaids for a reason.

ETA: FH asked my sisters BF of 3 years to be in the wedding. We joke with him saying, if you break up with my sister you're out. If she breaks up with you you're still in.

This!!! You don't know if she will be around forever and if you dont have a relationship I woouldn't bother. I had an uneven wedding party and it was fine. I paired up 2 girls with one guy. In your case, you can always just have each person in the bridal party walk down by themselves....

Need advice on my bridal party.

Thanks everyone for all the advice. My fiance's brother and his gf have been dating for 5 years. She was in the picture before I was (My fiance and I have been dating for 3 yrs) I like her a lot, but only because she's dating my fiance's brother. We get along great and only hang out with them, never have just us girls. I'm sure maybe one day she could be my sister-in-law but I can't say for sure. And if they ever broke up, I can't see myself staying friends with her. I think my final decision will be not to put her in my bridal party. I just felt bad. But I agree, I should included my closest girls that I can't live without in my bridal party rather than putting someone in I feel obligated to.
