need advice please! walking down the aisle

Hi girls- so I have been struggling with this issue for some time now..

My mom was divorced twice. I don't speak to my biological dad and I speak to my stepdad bc he raised me since I was 5 but we never had that father/daughter relationship. I love him and everything but we arent close and now that they are divorced I see him like 2 or 3 times a year.

My grandfather (moms side) who passed away in July was always like a father to me. I always said on my wedding day he would be the one to walk me down the aisle. I lived with them for a portion of my childhood and then when my mom got remarried they moved in the basement of our house. So we were super close and my grandparents were like a second set of parents.
Unfortunately he can't walk me down the aisle b/c he passed away

SO! I was thinking maybe having my uncle (moms brother) who is like an older brother to me walk me down since he is my grandfather and my blood...

THEN I was thinking well maybe I should just have my mom walk me down the aisle since she is my life and my best friend in the entire world and we are extrememly close!

But is that weird having a mother walk down the aisle? I just want your girls opinion b/c i am struggling with this..

My mom is walking me down the aisle! she almost cried when i told her. I think you should totally do it.

A lot of girls walk down with their mom. I think it's the sweetest thing and it'll be so meaningful and special for both of you!

Thank you girls so much! You all made me so happy and made this so easy for me...

I just spoke to FH about it and he says the same thing..I was nervous that he would think it is weird but he doesn't at all..

I have two good friends who had their moms walk them down the aisle for similar reasons. It looked great and was very nice. Go for it, makes a great memory and you'll have no regrets.

I think you have answered your own question. Without a doubt in my mind especially with the relationship you seem to have with your mom, I think you should have her walk you down the aisle.
