Need advice re: dress shopping

Ok so here is the situation. I found a dress a few months back at bridal salon 'A' that at the time i really liked, but I wasnt completely in love. (I think I let people talk me into the decision bc I love the dress, just do not think its 'me'). I put $200 down and was going to order it, tried it on again and something just didnt feel right. I decided to shop around a little bit more.

I went looking on the internet for more possible dresses and I found one that I really liked and wanted to try on. After calling 6 bridal shops, I finally found one that had it. I went to bridal salon 'B' and tried it on, so far really really like it, feel its more 'me,' but I just want to make sure I do not do another impulse purchase.

Now heres the problem. I love both dress shops, but I feel like I got more attention and the service was better at salon 'B'. I plan on calling salon 'A' to see if they will order that dress for me, so that way I am not loosing my $200. I also want to see how much they are going to charge me for the dress. Both salons carry the same designer. BTW both women I dealt with at both salons are as sweet as pie, which makes it hard.

Has anyone had this problem? Does the shop give you your money back if the dress was not officially ordered? If not, do you think they will put the money towards something else I can purchase from them (veil, jewelry, MOB dress, etc)?

Im a bride on a budget and cannot really afford to loose the $200. Any advice?

Thanks for reading!

Sorry so long!!

You probably won't be able to get your deposit returned but you more than likely will be able to apply your $200 towards something else in the store - like a veil or a MOB dress, or accessories. The only way to find out is to call the salon and speak to your sales person.

if the price at salon b is cheaper... tell salon a and they may match it.

This is what I would do... alot of salons are in competition with eachother...so I would say something. Otherwise, you'll prolly have to use the credit towards something else.... Good luck

I'd say they'd match it IF she didnt already put money down.... they more or less have hooked you in by having your deposit. Many you can get your slip and bra and all that at salon A so you dont lose out on the money and go to B for the dress. Good luck.
