Need advice regarding changing my stinkin' job down here...
I got a call yesterday to do customer service in a fairly large jewelry store chain, NO SALES, more back end customer service/financing/etc.
right now I make $10/hr
This job is $10.50 but has amazing benefits for $22 a week for me and DH....
what do y'all think?

If you are miserable at your current job, I would say go for it. You have to weigh your options, and think about how your current job is benefiting you (or not benefiting you). If you are going to be getting benefits with your new job that you aren't getting with your current job I would think that is a major positive. Good luck!

PROS to where I am now: I wear WHATEVER I want I can do 40 hrs, whenever...no evenings or wknds (yes, I could do 10 hrs a day, haven't tried it yet) it's close to home (about a 15 minute car drive with no traffic) performance based, if I do more than the requirement, I make more than $10/hr...in 2 months I've hit $10.38/hr....that's it..I HAVE NO MOTIVATION
CONS: I'm terribly bored it's dead end, no movement my neck/shoulders hurt, sometimes my eyes, headaces from staring at the computer all day no social interaction or minimal at that NO BENEFITS..unless I GO BUY THEM..they will pay half

well...I don't know if I'll be at the new job long...I plan on leaving after I have a baby and staying home after that, but not sure if I would go back P/T or after a few years.

If this isn't a job you're excited/happy about then I wouldn't make the move for a little bit more money. I would continue looking for a job that thrills you this way when you find it you'll know it.
Good luck!

I think you should give it a try. Plus you have to be at a company a certain amount of time usually before getting benefits and adding on your spouse, so when you have a baby, you want to make sure you are on benefits.
It sounds like you need a change. I would go for it. But don't forget...no computer all day, no LIweddings all day! Good luck on your decision.

Being at a job you hate can have such negative influences on the rest of your life. I briefly left ABT at a time when there was much internal turmoil and ended up at a really small PR agency. Long story short, I was having financial trouble because I had taken a pay cut and it was just a terrible working environment. At the time I would go home after a day of working and just go to sleep. DH (BF at the time) kept teasing me about how having a sleeping disease, but it wasn't until I was out of that situation that I realized that I was deeply depressed - Despite the fact that I had a wonderful BF, I was just so unfulfilled professionally that it really affected me emotionally.
I would say take the new job and see where it goes. You are CLEARLY unhappy with what you're doing now. Good luck!
