My FH and I are pretty much paying for our weddings ourselves (actually he is paying for our wedding). In working out the budget he eliminated a videographer, saying its a waste of money... plus he was unhappy that i booked the photographer without checking with him, so thats added to the whole dilemna. My question is this, how can i get my video on tape for CHEAP, very cheap. Any ideas? suggestions? I really want a video of the day, and I don't really want to bother relatives with having to tape the whole day.

nsgraham had a budget vendor page! She got everything done so nicely and so cheap! We skipped a video....family got the important parts and that was all we needed

How about getting a video that is not editied. I used Bellarino. We got the edited video , but I know his prices were reasonable- maybe try calling around and asking the prices for uneditied copies of your wedding.

Or maybe have someone bring a video camera or rent a video camera for the day and just invite someone to tape

we're inviting my uncles friend to tape the whole thing.. and my uncle does editing... its not going to be like how professional videographers do it,,, but its enough for us

Thats one thing I would not skip. You definitely don't need to do an upscale video but find someone who will tape the day for you on a regular video camera...if any of your family members/friends have a teenager - they would be totally pumped if you offered them a hundred bucks for the day.

I was also going to suggest a college student. You could probably pay them like only $200 or so.

I'm in a similar boat. We agreed to videographer at first and now I'm thinking I do want one, but it doesn't really fit into our budget. I met someone last week who is just starting out in the business, so I have no idea if she's any good but she's very friendly and seems professional. She lives in CT, but would travel to LI. I'm not sure how much, but FM me if you want her #- I have it at home. Good Luck!

Our priest suggested this for the ceremony. Get a tripod and camera placed in three strategic places in the church before the ceremony and press record. I am asked friends and relatives for their cameras and have five volunteers. So two will be taping from their seats as well. As for the cocktail hour and reception, my friend hates attention and dancing. She gratefully volunteered her services. My cousin and a friend of my mine also offered in lieu of dancing which they hate. I plan on taking all of these tapes and having them professionally spliced into one tape for about 300 here in LA. Hope that helps

You can also try Craigslist or ask someone from LIW to come and tape it. I'm sure you could find someone to do it

Re: Need Advice/Ideas
Ask Nadine Graham -- she had an amazing budget vendor page -- in fact someone bumped it recently. Might that nice person do it again, please?
