Hi everyone. I am newly engaged as well as new to this board. I am having trouble deciding between Fox Hollow and Chateau Briand for my reception site. If you have been to either one, can you let me know your opinion??

First of all, CONGRATS! Second, I LOVE Fox Hollow. They have such a nice wedding with excellent excellent food and service. One of the best weddings I've ever been to was FH's cousin's at Fox Hollow. I'm sorry I can't compare and contrast though because I've never been to Chateau Briand. Good luck!

Firstly - congrats to you!
Secondly - I have been to several weddings at the Fox Hollow and they've all been pretty good. The last one - the seating was tight, but i'm not sure if that was the hall's fault or the couple's poor decision. it's hard to tell. the service has always been excellent and I'm personally having my wedding at The Watermill which is owned by the same people.
CB - I've never been to, ut I've heard great things about it - also owned by the same people.
The way I see it - if those are your two choices - you can't lose either way!

If you like them both by sight, ask for a food tasting and that may make the decision for you, even though both are excellent choices.

As far as those reception halls goes--I have been to both and @ both weddings I attended at these places I was in the bridal party-I have to say that I think it all depends on taste. They are both very pretty but very different styles. Fox Hollow is more quaint and 'country--homey' feel & Chateau Briand is more modern and art deco type style....you can't go wrong with either place though-both scotto brothers and both have really good food and service. I remember the service @ CB being really good--Fox Hollow I didn't really eat ( i was all over the place-my bro's wedding it was) so i really don't remember. lol weigh the pros and cons of each and see what you both like better!
Edited to add that if you are planning to take pictures @ the places--the Fox Hollow has BEAUTIFUL Grounds and nice indoor faciilities in case of rain the CB has beautiful inside studio as well in case of inclement weather!

my uncle had his wedding at Chateau Briand and dh and i did not like it. we did not like the food either, but i have seen other posts here where the girls have had good experience with them.
I have never been to CB...but I have had nice experiences at the Fox Hollow...

I visited both. I liked the look of Fox Hollow better, although neither of them were 'the place' for me (we were doing ceremony on location and looking for something more secluded). I loved that big room in Fox Hollow, so pretty.
They are very different looks, and will shape your wedding accordingly. Fox Hollow is kind of 'country' and the Chateau is rather art deco, so everything from your flowers to your colors might be different. I've heard the food is good at both. I didn't like the guy who showed us Fox Hollow, he was kind of rude. I'm sure whichever you choose you will have an amazing wedding.

You can not go wrong with either. The Scotto Brothers have a great reputation for food and service. Both places have two different looks. CB is more modern and FH is more quaint and country like. It depends on your taste. FI and I were at a wedding at the FH last summer and everything was excellent. FI loved the place so much that the first thing he said when we got engaged and started looking at halls was we are starting with all the Scotto places first. We ended up at Westbury Manor. I've been to weddings at both. Don't think you could go wrong w/ either. I'm probably a little biased though b/c i'm a scotto bros. bride myself (WM). as far as those two though, the decor is totally opposite. depends on what you are into. we didn't look at either for ourselves b/c we'd been to friends weddings there. If i had to choose one of them though, i'd go with the Fow Hollow. More our style. GOOD LUCK!

Congradulations!
I have been to Chateau Briand, when looking for my place, but I found to be able to get more for my buck somewhere else.
I did not see Fox Hollow
But Congrats, and I had a friend go to a wedding at CB and said it was the best she's ever been.

Hi, I've been to both places. I'm not a fan of Chateau Briand (FM me if you want details), but I did like the Fox Hollow. It has pretty grounds, which didn't seem to be the case at Chateau Briand.

Both places are very beautiful...I can see why you are having a hard time making a decision. I happen to LOVE Fox Hollow but I've been to many wedding at Chateau Briand and they were all very beautiful!

Welcome and Congratulations!
I have been to both places. They both do a great job! However, I think the location of Fox Hollow is better. It's more quiet where Fox Hollow is and very congested over by Chateau. If it doesn't matter to you either way, then you need to follow your heart. I was given that advice a long time ago by someone I'm close to, and it works every time! Good luck and keep us posted!
