All of you girls are right and I e-mailed them all and are just waiting to hear back from them....

i like the letter that someone suggested. it's tactful and non-confrontational. if they don't respond i'd try to call them and explain that yes you're sorry they couldn't come and that money is tight, but they agreed a long time ago and it's not fair to you b/c you don't have all the money in the world either. if they still don't pay up i'd mention it to the bride. good luck, i'm so sorry they did that to you, and the bride, that really stinks.

if the letter or email doesn't get results, how about speaking to the brides fi. maybe he would agree to speak to the bp as not to upset the bride.

Let us know what they say. They definitely owe you money since it was agreed upon before hand. That was their choice not to attend and you shouldn't have to pay for it! $850 is a ton of money!
