Ok, JT and I are going to a party for my job this afternoon. Usually it's at our school, but this year, one of the parents who just accepted a job at our school is hosting the party. It's funded by the school's development department. Now, do I need to bring something to this sort of party? I feel uncomfortable bringing somehting to a work-related party, but I also feel uncomfortable not bringing anything. What do I do???????

It says on the invite: Fresh Ideas Summer Happening, Join So and So and the HCDS Development Department as we go FISH-ing for fresh ways to swim faster, work smarter, and live happier in our big pond. I have NO idea what kind of party it is, we've never had this kind of party before.

Ugh. I don't know what to do. I feel weird bringing wine. I mean, it's at this woman's house, but it's not really thrown by her, it's thrown by the school. I am just confused. Maybe I'll bring her flowers?

I vote no.. it seems like a staff meeting on more casual terms...
If you feel that concious about it call the RSVP # and see if there is anything you should bring or HAVE to bring!

I'd bring cookies from a bakery. Can't go wrong with that!

Ok, so I took a major risk and did not bring anything...which was hard for me because I NEVER go empty handed, but I just got the feeling it wasn't that kind of party. Well, I am so glad I did not bring anything because NO ONE else did, it was very work-oriented, not like personal level kind of thing. Plus, the pastry chef from the Four Seasons was there, so I think if I had brought cookies, they would have laughed on the inside, a little
