Need alternatives to DJ introductions of B&G and Wedding Party!!

Hi girls,

I don't want to do the standard introductions of the wedding party and fi and I when we walk into the ballroom. Does anyone have any suggestions for alternatives? But, Fi thinks it's too anti-climatic for us to just walk in with everybody else and then be announced for the first dance (which is what I'd like to do!).

hi.

Michele31 did not do a formal intro. From what I remember her saying- she and her DH were invited up for their first dance by the DJ. She wanted it low key.

That's ideally what I want to do (got the idea from her post), but fi thinks people like the build up and the excitement of announcing the bride and groom for the first time. He also thinks it's a nice honor for the wedding party, and makes them feel special. But I just don't want the whole big production of all the introductions.

why not have someone besides the DJ do the introductions - perhaps a family member or friend. or, have a family member or friend introduce you and your new husband and then the two of you introduce/thank your bridal party?

That's a great idea! Now I have to think of a member of my wedding party who'd be willing to do the introductions for us! And, practice announcing the wedding party myself!

It is NOT anti-climax at all. Scott and I were seated at our table when everyone walked in and took their seats then the band said 'We would like to invite Michele and Scott up to the dance floor for their first dance as husband and wife'. It was actually really nice. My feeling is that people KNOW who your BP is- they are all dressed up in the same stuff! We wanted to moment focused on us as a couple.
