me and FH went to a friend's bday, so I decided to ask the friend and his wife for their address for the STD's. there was also another couple that I am inviting and who are getting married soon. so I ask them for their address explaining what its for, and the girl goes blank in the eyes and stutters asking her FI to give me their new address. so he gave me. and while he gave me another friend of theirs has asked when is the wedding (something I've been asking for awhile and got evasive answers to) so he says 'end of this Aug' I, following that, asked 'where?' so she told me where. and NOTHING more! the other friend asked why no STD's or what about invites, they joked the question off I felt horrible at that moment! cause to me it meant that we are not invited to their wedding. hurt my feeling deeply, not to mention that its just plain rude! I discussed this whole thing with FH and he got really mad and said that we shouldn't invite them now. Then we talked some more about it and decided not to be 'like that' and still invite them.
what do u guys think? are we invited to theirs? to invite them to ours despite not being invited to theirs? need advice!!!

Re: need an advice/extra opinion
if you really like them and want them at your wedding then you should definitely still invite them to yours! Everyone has different circumstances and maybe they are having a small wedding, or have a tight budget and even though they wish they could invite you, might not be able to.
If that was me I wouldn't invite them then to my wedding, unless you think theres some kind of circumstance or if you just met them fairly recently, then I would let it slide...

Re: need an advice/extra opinion
I do understand having different circumstances, and I know that they are having 2 wedding. one here and another in the home country, its just I dont understand why to be so evasive about it. why not just say 'we're having a small one here, just family'?
I would still want them at the wedding, I know them actually longer than I know FH hehe. I just dont want to be 'the nice one'

they are probably really embarassed or feel uncomfortable. I bet they feel worse than you did when you were speaking to them.

ITA! However, if you find out that the wedding was huge and everyone else was invited...i might think differently.
but everyone does have their own issues andweddings are expensive...if you are friends with them and want them at yours, i would still invite them!

Re: need an advice/extra opinion
It really comes down to if you want them at your wedding or if you are more concerned about being 'right' and proving yoru point. If you want to prove a point then do not invite them or if you want them ther then invite them.
If you are close to this couple can you talk to them?

we're not that close to them, just bday/dinner friends.
that was exactly FH's and mine thinking process. that we should not get concerned what others do, but what we want to do and think is right. ultimately I want them there, I really like them.
thanks! this really made me feel better about this whole thing.

Re: need an advice/extra opinion
dont send them an STD..
see how close u are to them by ur wedding. i would totally be hurt.. but liek above posters said, every1 has diff circumstances. if u have enough room def invite them... but if ur cutting it close with ur invite list... hold off.
demote them to the B list!!!

I say if you still want to invite them, then invite them. Maybe they are just having a very small wedding.
