how necessary is the MC in the dj package? i've heard mixed reviews, but they add quite a bit to the price.

Re: need an MC?
I think it depends on your guests. If they are the type to get up and dance on their own then you should be OK with just the DJ. If they will need a little encouragement they you may want to get one.

It might also depend on the size of your wedding. I am not having an MC.

there will prob be somewhere btwn 110-130 ppl. @ the e-party, we had a steady crew, but i def wouldn't say the dance floor was packed. on the other hand, when my cousins are all together @ weddings, they usually get drunk and don't need much encouragement to dance.

We didnt get one b/c they are corny. Its all up to what feel of a wedding you want.

We're getting an MC, mostly because my family thinks a wedding is much better with one. I think it can go either way. I don't think an MC would necessarily be the one to get everyone up on the dance floor- I think that mostly depends on the type of music playing, if your guests like to dance and how much alcohol they've had

We're having one because we think he will add even more life to the party. I don't think it's necessary though. If you need to cut back and you think your DJ has a great personality, you will be fine w/o one.
